UK households are home to 7.4 million cats, 8.5 million dogs and countless fish and other small pets, according to RSPCA figures, while nearly a billion farm animals are reared each year, showing the scale of opportunity to work in animal care jobs. In our Urban Farm we have 26 different species of animals from small domestic animals, reptiles and farm livestock.  This makes us the number one choice to learn and train in the animal care industry as learners gain first-hand experience from highly experienced and inspirational tutors.

What qualifications will I get?

Depending on the level of your apprenticeship, you will qualify for an equivalent motor mechanic NVQ, with practical assessments and observations to help anyone who does not do well in an academic exam setting.

In many cases, much of your assessment will take place actually on the job, so you don’t face an unfamiliar environment and all the stress that can bring with it – and the qualifications you gain can count towards eligibility for higher courses or even a university application.

With ProCo you can choose from several mechanic apprenticeships:

What are the benefits of a mechanic apprenticeship?

There are plenty of ways to study the theory behind engine tune-ups and replacing car parts, but at some point, you have to get your hands dirty to really understand how a car fits together and how to repair it when it’s broken.

A motor mechanic apprenticeship offers the perfect balance between the two – practical experience that will serve you well throughout your career, but also the qualification that you can show to employers as proof of your capabilities. Take a read of some of our motor mechanic apprentice stories to find out more.

How do I apply?

ProCo welcome all applications, especially for entry-level apprenticeships that require little to no prior experience. If you are interested in taking your studies to a higher level, we can help you to work out what you need to do to be eligible for those courses too.
